President

Gabriela Timothy M.Ed is an Educator and Consultant with a dual master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She is a 2022 Doctoral Candidate at St. Joseph’s University and is focused on Universal Design for Learning, Blended Learning, Multi-Tiered Support Systems for Diverse Learners.

Gabriela is the CEO & Founder of Learned Potential. Learned Potential was established in 2017 as a learning specialist firm and a direct solution to families growing needs for resources for students with disabilities in the classroom setting. Gabriela founded Learned Potential Education Consulting in 2017, in response to the high need for quality instruction for students with diverse needs. In 2019, after serving as a Charter Authorizer for Philadelphia Charter School’s Office’s 87 schools, Gabriela, expanded to support district leaders, Charter school CEOs, and principals with MTSS implementation, strategic planning, charter renewal guidance, and special education implementation.

Today, Gabriela and her amazing team have served over a half dozen districts and impacted the lives over of 2,000 students of multicultural backgrounds. In the Summer of 2022, Learned Potential and the Diverse Learner Foundation will be partnering to open collaborative learning spaces in Philadelphia and Trenton.

Through her role as President and Executive Director of the Diverse Learner Foundation, Gabriela’s mission every day is to empower students, schools, and communities with the tools to reach their ultimate potential!

Vice President & Treasurer

Captain Joseph Deacon is a dynamic and energetic Fire Captain, serving the city of Trenton, NJ. He is nationally certified in Incident Management, Emergency Medical Services, and Rescue and Recovery.

Joseph is an advocate for STEAM education and vocational opportunities for all ages. The Diverse Learner Foundation was born on a trip to his childhood school in Clarendon, Jamaica. Captain Deacon was able to expose his humble community to Drone flying and advanced technology, while Gabriela shared literacy resources. His mission then became to bring STEAM and literacy resources to schools in his childhood home, as well as schools in the Trenton community that he currently serves.

Joseph is also the CEO of JAD Enterprises, where he empowers communities through smart homes, sustainable real estate, education, and community service.
